Lead Data Analyst
Job Description
Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven leadership experience managing and developing a team, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets and demonstrate clear business impact.
- Technical expertise with SQL, Power BI, and Python/PySpark; Databricks is a plus but not essential.
- Confident stakeholder management skills, including engaging with senior stakeholders and translating data into compelling narratives that drive business decisions.
- A commercial mindset; background in operational or commercial analytics such as logistics, supply chain, or marketing within the private sector is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to turn data into real-world solutions that optimise operations.
- Lead a team of three analysts and help develop them into high-impact contributors who drive meaningful business improvements.
- Combine hands-on analytics and leadership in a roughly 50/50 split.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, optimise processes, and translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Balance hands-on technical problem-solving with strategic leadership to keep the team focused on delivering value.
- Automate and optimise reporting, moving from static reports to real-time, insight-driven analytics.
- Foster a data-driven culture within the business and champion best practices and the adoption of modern analytics tools.
- Focus on turning data into meaningful business decisions, insights, and storytelling.
- Drive operational efficiencies and influence key stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Customer Service, and Operations.
