Junior Back End Engineer - Midlothian

Salary: £35,000 - 63,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for bright and enthusiastic graduates to join our R&D team in Edinburgh.
• We are not expecting familiarity with Go, but you should be enthusiastic and willing to learn new things.
• Prior experience in a general-purpose programming language such as Golang, Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS would be an advantage.
• Experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of network security such as SSL/TLS and other crypto concepts would be an advantage.
• Appreciation of test-driven development, continuous integration/deployment, and Kanban would be an advantage.
• Experience using version control software such as Git as part of working in a team would be an advantage.
• Experience developing software for machine learning or computer vision would be an advantage.
• We are looking for applicants with excellent academic results at a recognised university, or evidence of outstanding technical skills.
• You should be proficient in English.
• We are looking for a team player who thinks holistically, enjoys solving complex problems, and thrives working autonomously.
• You should be willing to ask for input and learn from teammates when needed.
• If you have experience developing software through a university project or as a hobby, we would like you to share it when applying.
