SecOps Engineer

Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong DevOps, Platform or Cloud Engineering background
• Experience with AWS, ideally including IAM, GuardDuty, CloudTrail and/or Security Hub
• Experience with Azure, particularly Defender for Cloud, Entra ID/IAM, Key Vault, Azure Policy and cloud security best practices
• Infrastructure as Code experience such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or Jenkins
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Experience with monitoring, logging and observability tooling
• Experience with vulnerability management and cloud security scanning
• Experience with secrets and key management
• Knowledge of IAM, RBAC and least-privilege access
• Security-first mindset

Responsibilities:

• Improve security across AWS and Azure cloud environments
• Work with AWS security services including GuardDuty, CloudTrail, IAM and Security Hub
• Work with Azure security services such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Entra ID, Key Vault and Azure Policy
• Strengthen identity and access management, including RBAC, least-privilege access and authentication controls
• Build security controls and best practices into CI/CD pipelines
• Support Infrastructure as Code and embed security into cloud deployments
• Improve cloud monitoring, logging, alerting and observability
• Identify vulnerabilities, cloud misconfigurations and potential security risks
• Help embed a Zero Trust approach across infrastructure and cloud services
• Automate repetitive security and infrastructure processes
• Support ongoing client migrations into AWS and Azure
• Work alongside the wider Platform/DevOps and Compliance functions as we progress towards SOC 2 compliance
• Help shift security further left within the engineering lifecycle

We are a technology business at an important point in our cloud and security journey. Over the last two years, we have been moving our hosting into the cloud, predominantly across AWS, while continuing to grow our Azure footprint. We still have client environments being migrated, alongside a wider focus on improving security, reducing technical debt and strengthening our overall cloud platform. Security sits within our DevOps/Platform function, and we are working towards SOC 2 compliance by Q1 2027. This is a UK-based permanent role with one day per month in our Shoreditch, London office, and the salary is up to £75,000 plus benefits. We also work in an environment where cloud, security, AI and governance overlap, including exposure to AI automation and ISO certification for AI Governance.
