Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant-Developer

Salary: £48,000 - 88,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require at least two years hands-on Business Central delivery, with practical competence in both finance configuration and AL development; candidates may lean functional or technical, but must work independently in both.
• We require BC finance configuration experience, including posting groups and setups, dimensions, journals, approvals, permissions, and the core sales, purchase and finance flows.
• We require production AL delivery experience, including VS Code, extensions and events, APIs, OData or web services, debugging, source control and controlled deployment through sandbox and production environments.
• We require at least one full implementation or major rollout from build through go-live.
• We require hands-on data migration experience using configuration packages; RapidStart experience from NAV or earlier BC versions counts.
• We require the ability to explain technical and data issues clearly to finance users, in person and in writing.
• Desirable experience includes a NAV and C/AL background, including transitioning legacy customisations to AL extensions.
• Desirable experience includes delivering an interface to a non-Microsoft operational system.
• Desirable experience includes Power BI report building against BC data.
• Desirable experience includes AP automation ISVs such as Continia or similar.
• Desirable experience includes jobs, projects or costing module experience.

Responsibilities:

• We build and configure BC companies from the group template, including posting setups, number series, journals, approval workflows and user permissions.
• We run data loads, including configuration packages, master data, opening balances, and the reconciliation work needed to secure Group Finance sign-off.
• We carry the bulk of AL development to the standards set by the lead solution architect, including interim interfaces to the legacy NAV estate, integrations to the operational systems, and extensions where standard BC falls short.
• We run test cycles to the lead solution architects plan, preparing scripts, supporting superuser-led UAT in each business, fixing defects and retesting.
• We support cutovers in person, including training, floor-walking and first-week support at each go-live.
• We provide hypercare after each go-live and build the handover, including support documentation, interface runbooks and knowledge transfer to the permanent support team before contract end.

We are Centry Services Group, a multi-entity UK group made up of four trading businesses in moving, relocation and related services, plus an overseas shared service centre running finance processing on the legacy estate. The role is based in London and Kings Langley, with three days in the office and two days hybrid, plus travel to group sites around cutovers. We are consolidating onto one Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central platform in two phases, with the first focused on group chart of accounts, financial ledgers and consolidated reporting, followed by operational scope, integrations and remaining migrations. The role reports to the Group Head of Finance, IT & Administration and works day to day with a lead solution architect, group IT and finance superusers, with the mandate approved and sponsored by our chief executive.
