Salary: £40,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are seeking extensive experience with UK SC Security Clearance.
  • We require a good working knowledge of Windows OS and LAN technology.
  • We are looking for an experienced trainer with strong presentation and training skills.
  • We need good knowledge of IT systems and associated support.
  • We require good knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016.
  • We need knowledge of VMware.
  • We require the ability to work with confidence as part of a team and unsupervised.
  • We require physical fitness, as lifting is part of the role.
  • We prefer candidates with a UK passport and a full UK driving licence.
  • We prefer experience with Cisco routing, switching and VOIP.
  • We prefer experience leading small teams.
  • We prefer Windows Server administration experience.
  • We prefer experience with fibre/copper LAN installation and PC repair.
  • We prefer knowledge of DII, DIS and HLA.
  • We prefer up-to-date knowledge of battlefield terminology and doctrine.
  • We prefer ex-HM Forces experience.
  • We prefer understanding of ISTAR visualisation and its applications.
  • We prefer knowledge of VBS3 and associated terrain generation.
  • We prefer experience providing terrain databases, models and scripting within a VBS environment.
  • We typically require a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • For engineering or other technical positions, we typically require a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • We will have you join our Command and Staff Trainer (CAST) team as a Systems Engineer.
  • We will have you support exercises for the British Army using the ABACUS computer simulation and Communication & Information Systems (CIS), from Battle Group to Corps level.
  • We will have you configure the ABACUS software for exercise use.
  • We will have you provide the MOD customer with ABACUS data for military exercises.
  • We will have you configure and integrate individual systems to match military training requirements.
  • We will have you conduct system training to ensure military users are competent to conduct their exercises.
  • We will have you provide coverage to support CAST activities at relevant UK sites when required.
  • We will have you support day-to-day and IT operations activities at the site.
  • We will have you carry out engineering, operational and administrative duties associated with the CAST site.
  • We will have you support remotely networked CIS exercises at Warminster, Sennelager and offsite locations.
  • We will have you support CAST activity at all sites using primarily ABACUS, CIS and VBS3.
  • We will have you liaise with the military customer and build scenarios to fit their requirements.
  • We will have you establish consistent and measurable processes for support and administration activity.
  • We will have you comply with configuration and control procedures.
  • We will have you attend further training when required.
  • We will have you comply with laid-down company procedures.
  • We will have you work nights and shifts when required.
  • We will have you champion and foster a culture of Environmental, Health and Safety compliance and continuous improvement.
  • We will have you carry out any other duties required to complete the CAST service.

We are part of RTX, a global aerospace and defense company focused on solving complex problems and helping protect the world. Our team brings more than 100 years of engineering expertise and supports military training capability through the Command and Staff Trainer (CAST) team. This role is onsite, and commuting to the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.
