Ruby Developer
Job Description
Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong commercial experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Mandatory professional experience with other backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and database optimisation.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar backend technologies.
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong testing experience with RSpec, Minitest, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of Git, software architecture, security, and performance optimisation.
- Build and regularly ship software as part of our professional software engineering team.
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Work with databases, background jobs, caching, and third-party integrations.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
- Troubleshoot performance and production issues.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams.
