Requirements:
  • A Level or equivalent in a technology discipline is desirable.
  • Experience in IT support within a policing environment is desirable.
  • Proficiency in endpoint management and software/application installation via tools such as SCCM, Active Directory, and InTune is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, particularly Windows 10 and O365, is essential.
  • Familiarity with network topologies related to WAN and LAN, including TCPIP and Ethernet, is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation are essential.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities:
  • We provide expert advice and guidance to users on the effective use of IT systems, products, and services.
  • We manage endpoints using technologies including InTune, SCCM, Knox, and Azure-based administration.
  • We oversee the Airwave estate with Radio Manager and manage the Windows 10 OS lifecycle, including application testing and security device control.
  • We assist in deploying VOIP telephony, laptops, mobiles, Mobile Data Terminals, and hardware refresh technology.
  • We maintain comprehensive documentation, including asset registers and technical documentation.
  • We keep users informed of progress during their requests, ensuring transparency and excellent customer service.
  • We offer innovative solutions to problems and provide technical support for project implementations.
  • We participate in the IT out-of-hours on-call service rota for user and colleague assistance.

We are recruiting for an IT Technician to join our Information Technology department supporting the Lincolnshire Police Force in Nettleham, Lincoln. This is a temporary full-time role until May 2027, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, with a required full UK driving licence for travel to various sites.
