Senior DevOps Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements:- Extensive experience developing CI/CD pipelines
- Strong experience with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure
- Experience with containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Expert knowledge of DevOps concepts, best practices, and Agile principles
- Experience working with the three main cloud service providers, with Azure preferred
- Knowledge of on-premise to cloud migration
- Experience with Microsoft .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, C#, Node.js, and React
- Strong PowerShell and Bash scripting skills
- Networking skills and fundamentals
- Experience with SQL Server and NoSQL databases
- Experience administering Windows and Linux servers
- Strong source control management experience with Git
- Experience with microservices
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, OTel, and Grafana
- Experience with Docker Compose and Helm charts
- Experience with DevSecOps tooling such as SonarCloud, PrismaCloud, and CrowdStrike
- Automate the creation and deployment of Development, Test, Pre-Production, and Production environments using Infrastructure as Code
- Create and modify infrastructure code to provision and configure cloud resources across IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions
- Automate application and service testing and integrate it into the build process
- Manage CI/CD pipelines in YAML and configure automated infrastructure, software build, deployment, and release processes using Git
- Maintain and govern test environments to ensure consistency of software and codebase
- Manage application source code, including branching strategies
- Create and maintain data refresh processes and scripts while ensuring sensitive data remains secure and anonymised
- Use monitoring tools for application, server, and service diagnostics
- Assist development teams with performance and volume testing
- Set up NuGet and npm repositories, as well as web servers such as IIS and Node.js
- Identify departmental processes that can be streamlined or automated
- Create and maintain documentation for high-level and low-level cloud solutions
- Provide knowledge of cloud IaaS and PaaS infrastructure and configurations, and guide project teams in best practices
- Ensure DevSecOps principles are followed and work with internal and external auditing and security teams to maintain security of environments and data
- Coordinate with development project teams on requirements, planning, and status updates
- Contribute to requirement scoping calls with business customers and work closely with Cloud Architects on cloud solutions
- Contribute to internal continuous improvement initiatives for the wider DevOps teams
- Mentor more junior DevOps Engineers and provide support and guidance on best practices
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical infrastructure incidents
