Senior Java Developer

Salary: £70,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• 7 years experience, ideally within financial services or a complex enterprise environment
• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot
• Strong experience developing and integrating APIs
• Good understanding of modern software development practices
• Experience with automated testing and TDD
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working directly with clients and business stakeholders
• Experience within financial services, capital markets, trading or another similar environment is desirable
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments is desirable
• Previous experience mentoring or leading developers is desirable
• Experience working with cloud-based platforms is desirable
• Experience working with distributed or international engineering teams is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain Java applications and APIs
• Deliver new functionality driven by client and product requirements
• Enhance and improve existing systems and platform capabilities
• Integrate with third-party systems and services
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices
• Work closely with Product and Client Services teams to understand requirements
• Investigate complex technical issues and identify effective solutions
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Contribute to the development and mentoring of other engineers
• Make use of modern development tools, including AI, throughout the SDLC

We are a growing financial technology business developing software solutions for organisations operating in complex financial environments. Due to continued growth and new client wins, we are expanding our engineering team and seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to play a key role in developing and evolving our SaaS platform. This is a fully remote role with quarterly team meet-ups, offering a salary of £85,000-£110,000 plus a performance-related bonus. You will work across existing platform development, new product functionality and client implementations, with the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing engineering team.
