Job Description
Salary: £41,500 - 68,500 per year
Requirements:- We require strong experience in infrastructure, networks, or platform engineering in a complex environment.
- We require demonstrable experience acting as a senior technical escalation point or authority.
- We require a deep understanding of change, incident, and problem management processes.
- We require the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable explanations.
- We require experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
- We require strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to challenge constructively and influence outcomes.
- You must be a sole UK national and eligible to work in the UK.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain UK Government DV-level security clearance.
- Desirable: experience operating within technical assurance or governance frameworks.
- Desirable: familiarity with ITIL principles.
- Desirable: exposure to security-focused environments, secure-by-design, or compliance-driven delivery.
- We provide leadership, technical assurance, and strategic direction across our infrastructure and network services.
- We act as the final escalation point for complex technical decisions.
- We review, challenge, and assure infrastructure, network, and platform designs.
- We ensure solutions are secure, supportable, and aligned with our standards.
- We maintain a clear view of performance, risk, and lifecycle health across infrastructure and network domains.
- We lead and mentor network and infrastructure engineers, promoting strong engineering principles and technical quality.
- We support prioritisation of workloads, project demands, and operational improvements.
- We contribute to long-term technology roadmaps and identify risks, constraints, and future opportunities.
- We track emerging technologies and recommend adoption where value is clear.
- We lead technical elements of change management and provide expert input to CAB.
- We drive continuous improvement in governance processes and embed lessons learned into engineering practice.
- We lead root-cause analysis and coordinate long-term remediation for recurring incidents.
- We work with engineering teams to reduce technical debt and increase platform stability.
- We drive proactive risk reduction across infrastructure and networks.
- We act as the technical authority in discussions with customers and partners.
- We review supplier designs, documentation, and proposals to ensure alignment with our standards and requirements.
- We represent the organisation with confidence in technical governance forums.
- We mentor and develop engineers, identify skills gaps, and shape technical training plans.

We are MASS and we are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Technical Authority to join us on-site in Corsham, Wiltshire, in a permanent full-time role with a salary of 62,000 to 72,000.
