Lead Software Engineer VP

Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade, client-facing web applications or platforms
• Strong expertise in cloud-native AWS architecture, including microservices, distributed systems, API-first design, and event-driven architecture
• Deep hands-on experience across modern frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue
• Experience building highly performant, interactive, data-driven user interfaces
• Strong backend engineering experience using technologies such as Python, Java, Node.js, or similar
• Experience designing scalable services and data processing pipelines
• Experience working with data and analytics platforms, including visualization and large-scale data handling
• Exposure to or experience with Machine Learning and/or Generative AI and their practical application in products
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations
• Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex, cross-functional technology initiatives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a strong track record in system design and delivery
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• AWS Solutions Architect Certificate is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of modern, enterprise-grade, client-facing research platforms for financial research products
• Drive the transformation of our Insights platform toward cloud-native, scalable, and highly interactive experiences
• Champion the adoption of Generative UI/UX patterns, enabling dynamic and personalized research delivery
• Design end-to-end solutions across frontend applications, backend services, and data and analytics platforms
• Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and production-ready architectures
• Partner with research, product, and business stakeholders to shape innovative, client-centric solutions
• Integrate advanced capabilities such as data visualization, data analytics, and Generative AI / Generative UI features
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to global engineering teams, ensuring high standards of design, performance, and maintainability
• Drive engineering best practices including DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native development
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on technology strategy and platform evolution
