Head of IT

Salary: £80,000 - 120,000 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive experience across IT operations, systems engineering and infrastructure management
• Previous experience leading, developing and mentoring IT teams
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS and hybrid infrastructure environments
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune
• Strong networking fundamentals
• Practical cybersecurity experience
• Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments
• Proven experience managing third-party suppliers, contracts and technology budgets

Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of our growing and evolving technology estate within a highly regulated environment
• Report directly to our CEO and help shape our technology strategy
• Lead day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure, security and compliance
• Manage IT infrastructure, networks and cloud architecture
• Oversee AWS and hybrid on-premise environments
• Work with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and Microsoft Intune
• Manage cybersecurity, EDR and SIEM platforms
• Ensure information security, UK GDPR and regulatory compliance
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning
• Drive IT strategy, systems optimisation and application rationalisation
• Manage suppliers, contracts and technology budgets
• Provide end-user support and access management
• Develop, mentor and grow our internal IT team
• Review infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity and support complex technical projects when required

We are recruiting for a Head of IT based in Bristol with hybrid working and an expected on-site presence of approximately three days per week. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, offering a competitive salary of circa £90k depending on experience plus benefits. We are a highly regulated, customer-focused organisation, and this role is central to shaping our technology strategy while ensuring security, resilience and compliance across our technology estate.
