Director - AI and Machine Learning

Salary: £53,000 - 86,000 per year

Requirements:

• Around 10+ years of experience leading AI and data projects, with a strong track record of delivering measurable business value for clients.
• Several years of experience working with consulting and technical teams together.
• Deep expertise across AI technologies, machine learning, data analytics, and data management.
• Strong understanding of AI and ML, data infrastructure and architecture, including data warehousing and cloud-based solutions.
• A track record of delivered engagements, grown accounts, and led pitches.
• Credible at C-suite level, with the ability to engage and influence senior executives and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to mentoring and developing others.

Responsibilities:

• Operate at the intersection of AI and data strategy, client leadership, and commercial growth.
• Own the AI and data agenda across a portfolio of clients.
• Lead Tech Leads and Managers who manage day-to-day delivery of engagements.
• Shape client AI strategy at board level and build reusable delivery playbooks.
• Match client business opportunities and pain points to the right ML, AI, or data engineering solutions.
• Engage with client Principal Engineers and Data Scientists on solution architecture and implementation details.
• Identify, prioritise, and lead AI use cases end to end from ideation through deployment and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain a library of reusable use cases and solution sets.
• Assess clients data and analytics maturity and turn insights into repeatable playbooks.
• Work with client cross-functional teams to ensure AI solutions integrate into business operations.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and create a community of data leaders across the portfolio.
• Lead pitches end to end, including propositions, proposal development, and RFP responses.
• Contribute to pipeline management and opportunity prioritisation.
• Stay ahead of AI and data analytics developments and bring innovative solutions and trusted advisors to clients.
• Mentor and support the development of data and AI talent at Artefact, especially Tech Leads and Managers.
