Engineering Lead - Embedded Finance

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java or similar stacks.
• Deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Product mindset focused on customer impact, not just technical implementation.
• Strong experience designing and optimizing relational databases.
• Commitment to best coding practices, continuous delivery, and code reviews.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain our teams services.
• Mentor and support engineers in their growth and development.
• Support technical decisions to ensure we build a high-quality, reliable, and scalable product.
• Work closely with a Product Manager to own and drive the teams direction and product plans.
• Collaborate with teams across Wise to deliver impact and expand our platforms functionality for partners.
• Own the teams services and product.
• Push best practices and high-quality product standards.
