Senior Full Stack Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements:- Senior-level experience building and running production services in C# / ASP.NET Core and TypeScript / Next.js / React, with working knowledge of the other side and an appetite to grow into both
- Comfortable owning a service on Kubernetes, including deployments, probes, autoscaling, NetworkPolicies, and RBAC, and debugging real failures from kubectl alone
- Solid working knowledge of Kubernetes operators and CRDs, including reconciliation loops, custom resources, and how operator-driven infrastructure differs from imperative provisioning
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform such as GCP or Azure, including relevant services like GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, AKS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Key Vault, and willingness to learn the other
- Clear written communication skills for producing RFCs, ADRs, runbooks, and actionable PR descriptions
- Nice to have: Crossplane experience, including authoring Compositions, CompositeResourceDefinitions, or custom providers
- Nice to have: GitOps fluency with ArgoCD and Helm, and CI/CD authorship in GitLab
- Nice to have: Experience building custom Kubernetes operators with Operator SDK or Kubebuilder
- Nice to have: Service mesh experience with Istio or Linkerd
- Nice to have: Prior experience migrating a product from bundled releases to continuous deployment
- Nice to have: Contributions to Backstage or an internal developer portal
- Shape clear, testable acceptance criteria with Product and Design
- Build and own end-to-end products across .NET services, TypeScript frontend, PostgreSQL, and GitOps deployment
- Design scalable backend systems, including APIs, event handling, and clean architecture patterns
- Deliver high-quality frontend experiences with accessible components and strong data and state management
- Work with cloud-native, declarative infrastructure including Kubernetes, Crossplane, and CRDs
- Maintain high standards across testing, including unit, integration, and contract testing, as well as code quality
- Apply strong security practices across backend and frontend systems
- Build meaningful observability through tracing, logging, and SLOs focused on real user impact
- Take a cost-aware approach to scaling and resource usage
- Participate in an on-call rotation once ramped up
- Use AI-assisted development tools effectively in day-to-day work
