Entry Level IT Support Engineer

Salary: £24,000 - 29,000 per year

• You should live within 15 miles of Watford.
• Basic knowledge of Windows 10/11 Professional.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server 2019/2022/2025.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Basic knowledge of general office applications such as MS Office.
• PC hardware knowledge, including replacing hard drives and power supplies.
• Knowledge of printing, wired and wireless networks, software installation, and interactive whiteboards/projectors.
• Desirable: scripted installations, Visual Basic programming, PowerShell, Google G-Suite, Apple iOS and app management, and Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities:

• We provide onsite, remote, phone, and email IT support to local primary schools.
• We monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
• We install and configure hardware.
• We diagnose hardware and software faults and resolve technical and applications problems.
• We develop and maintain close relationships with our customers.
• We visit 2 to 3 schools daily during term time.
• We carry out some work from home.
• During school holidays, we work on large projects and installations.
• We make an immediate contribution and support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the above systems and technologies.

We are Con Ed Ltd, an award-winning, small Watford-based business with 20 years of experience providing IT support and managed services to primary schools in the area. Our team supports over 50 schools and continues to grow through reputation and word of mouth. This is a full-time, permanent field-based role in and around Watford, Hertfordshire, with travel primarily across the South West Herts area. We offer a salary of £24K to £29K depending on experience, knowledge, and skills, with annual salary reviews, a discretionary performance bonus scheme, and 25 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays for full-time staff. We support term-time working on a pro-rata basis where it suits our business needs, and we encourage our team to develop in other areas of personal interest where appropriate.
