Senior Java Developer

Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• Java 17+ experience
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Spring Integration, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data, and other Spring extension projects
• Experience with microservices, large-scale integration projects, distributed systems, REST and SOAP web services, and messaging with ActiveMQ
• Experience with SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL, Aurora, and JPA/Hibernate
• Experience with Maven, JUnit, Mockito, Powermock, JMock, DBUnit, TestContainers, Jenkins, Git, SonarQube, and Stash Repository
• Experience with AWS services and cloud hosting components, including EC2, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Route53, KMS, and CloudWatch
• Experience with Docker and containerisation
• Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum, Kanban, TDD, and BDD
• Experience developing in Linux environments and working with Atlassian products
• Experience with Angular, Bootstrap, Jaspersoft, Quartz, and PostgreSQL-based systems
• Public sector experience
• Experience supporting live systems and diagnosing incidents
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
• Desired: AWS DevOps experience, Postfix experience, Grafana and Prometheus monitoring experience, strong stakeholder management, and expertise in risk management

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement solutions for our portfolio of biometric products
• Support live systems and diagnose incidents
• Work collaboratively within our engineering team to deliver high-quality Java code
• Contribute to large-scale public sector software delivery programs
• Build and maintain microservices, integrations, web services, and distributed system solutions
• Develop and support applications in a cloud-hosted AWS environment
• Work with testing, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling to support reliable delivery
