Principal Systems Engineer

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in RF or wireless system test
• Experience with Python test automation
• Experience with 4G/5G, LTE or digital communications
• Experience with RF measurement equipment
• Experience in system integration and verification
• Experience with embedded systems or wireless communications
• Beneficial experience with 3GPP, lab automation, CI/CD, Hardware-in-the-Loop, ORAN or satellite communications

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automated Python-based test systems
• Develop scalable verification frameworks for advanced wireless communications products
• Integrate and automate RF test equipment including spectrum analysers, signal generators and VNAs
• Define test strategies from system requirements and 3GPP specifications
• Work closely with Software, FPGA, Systems and Algorithm Engineers to solve complex technical challenges
• Support customer demonstrations and occasional international customer engagements

We are growing and looking for a Principal System Test Engineer to take ownership of how complex wireless products are verified, automated and validated. This is a hands-on hybrid role based in Southampton, offering a circa £80,000 basic salary plus annual bonus, equity, private medical cover and excellent benefits. You will work alongside highly experienced Algorithm, Software, FPGA and Systems Engineers and help shape our verification strategy, engineering quality and automation approach.
