Job Description

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for a well-rounded DevOps Engineer who is comfortable across the full delivery lifecycle.
  • We need confident use of distributed version control systems such as Git or Mercurial.
  • We want hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • We require the ability to write clean, reliable scripts in Python, shell, PowerShell, or a similar language.
  • We are looking for practical experience building, managing, and orchestrating OCI containers using tools such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or LXC.
  • We need a good understanding of artefact and dependency management across the delivery pipeline.
  • We expect a solid grasp of networking essentials including DNS, IP, firewalls, VPN setup, and day-to-day troubleshooting.
  • You must hold full eligibility to work in the UK.
Responsibilities:
  • We will embed you within a skilled engineering function working across embedded firmware, developer tooling, and cloud-based applications.
  • We will rely on you to improve the speed, reliability, and quality of software delivery.
  • We will expect you to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage test environments.
  • We will have you track performance through DORA metrics, ensure observability, and uphold security best practice throughout.
  • We will ask you to work closely with engineering teams to understand how they build, test, and deploy software and use that insight to drive continuous improvement.
  • We will expect you to help accelerate the pace of development.
  • We will have you maintain environment stability as a key part of your remit.
  • We will ask you to liaise directly with customers when deployments touch their own infrastructure.
  • We will give you a broad, hands-on role with scope to shape how things are done.
