Wintel Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
• We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Wintel Engineer.
• Strong background as a Wintel Infrastructure Engineer.
• Experience delivering infrastructure solutions for UK Government, Defence, or other highly secure environments.
• Strong understanding of secure infrastructure build standards and data security requirements.
• Proven experience producing detailed technical documentation, including Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and Build Guides.
• Experience working within regulated and security-conscious environments.
• Willingness to work to SQEP standards and obtain a P4 Pass if not already held.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Willingness to be predominantly on-site, including regular on-site attendance and working 5 days a week on site.

Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of critical infrastructure work within the Nexus Project.
• Build, configure, and deploy Windows server infrastructure within secure environments.
• Produce high-quality Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and Build Guides.
• Support physical server installation and infrastructure build activities on client sites.
• Ensure infrastructure is delivered in accordance with security policies, data protection requirements, and build standards.
• Work closely with the Portfolio Manager and Technical Lead to achieve project objectives.
• Maintain technical documentation and support project assurance activities.

We are based in Cumbria and are seeking someone to join us on a predominantly on-site basis within a secure environment. The role is inside scope of IR35 and supports critical infrastructure delivery for the Nexus Project. We operate in a highly secure, governance-led setting and require regular on-site attendance due to the nature of the work and server build activities.
