Web Developer

Salary: £35,000 - 42,000 per year

Requirements:

• PHP, WordPress, JavaScript and jQuery experience
• Experience with WordPress themes, templates and ACF
• Good HTML and CSS skills
• Experience implementing front-end changes within WordPress websites
• Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development
• Good understanding of website hosting, performance and security
• Experience troubleshooting website and integration issues
• Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console
• Basic understanding of technical SEO principles
• Experience working with APIs, forms and third-party integrations
• Comfortable using browser developer tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Experience with Wordfence or similar security tools
• Experience with A/B testing and CRO
• Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed optimisation
• Knowledge of accessibility auditing and WCAG standards
• Familiarity with Zapier and workflow automation platforms
• Understanding of AI search, answer engines and emerging search technologies
• Experience working with AI-powered tools or chatbots
• Experience working with lead generation websites
• Experience with CRM integrations and customer journey optimisation
• Experience with Google Workspace

• Maintain, improve and evolve a business-critical website
• Ensure the platform remains secure, reliable, fast, accessible and commercially effective
• Support ongoing improvements across analytics, conversion optimisation, search visibility, customer journeys and user experience
• Build, improve, test, maintain and optimise digital experiences
• Take ownership of implementation and make changes directly
• Solve problems directly and keep a high-traffic, revenue-generating platform running well
• Support more complex development, hosting, security and infrastructure matters alongside our Head of Technology

We are a growing online services business offering a hands-on web developer role focused on WordPress, SEO, HTML and CSS. This is a remote position with a salary of up to £42,000, where you will play a key role in maintaining and evolving a business-critical website. You will work closely with our Head of Technology on more complex technical matters while taking genuine ownership of day-to-day implementation and optimisation.
