Sr Lead Software Engineer - F and O Execution Data Team

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• We require experience in data engineering and software development roles.
• We require strong proficiency in Java, including core and advanced concepts.
• We require hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, and stream processing.
• We require solid working knowledge of AWS cloud services, including S3, Lambda, EC2, RDS, and Glue.
• We require proficiency in Python.
• We require practical experience with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks.
• We require experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• We require experience in data modelling, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
• We require experience with CI/CD practices and version control, such as Git.
• We require strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• We require excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities:

• We design and develop robust, scalable data pipelines and streaming applications using Java and Apache Kafka.
• We integrate with the cloud by implementing and managing data solutions on AWS, including S3, Lambda, EC2, RDS, and Glue.
• We process data at scale by developing ETL processes for batch and real-time data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• We optimize performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning data flows to ensure reliability and efficiency in a low-latency environment.
• We collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, and fellow engineers to understand requirements and deliver production-grade solutions.
• We document data flows, architecture, and operational procedures.
• We uphold security and compliance by ensuring our data solutions adhere to firm security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
• We use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate data platform and design analysis and technical documentation, while validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
• We apply reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and operational routines, supporting validation automation and access control review, while maintaining traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security expectations.
