Software Engineer - Data Distribution Service

Salary: £30,000 - 52,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for a highly capable DDS Developer to join our team at our Bristol facility.
• We are seeking someone with advanced data analysis and data design experience.
• We need a candidate who can support and advise at weapons systems architecture and design levels.
• We need experience in sub-system command and control definition and design.
• We are looking for someone able to design and construct IDL at weapons system and sub-system level.
• We need someone who can own and develop sub-system component templates and design patterns.
• We are looking for someone who can advise and mentor sub-system developers.
• We need someone able to technically lead CORE development and the technologies that support components, sub-systems and weapons systems.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development of our Air Defence products while maintaining our reputation for safety, performance and dependability.
• Support the continued design and development of our CORE communications data model within a common product line framework.
• Work closely with the Software Architect and Software Project Leaders to provide key technologies and technical support to our teams.
• Operate at Weapon System and Sub-System level in negotiations regarding overall architecture and underpinning data models.
• Help deliver optimal internal inter-component and external subsystem communication to deliver capabilities to our customers.
• Act as a role model by proactively leading innovative approaches to deliver and exceed customer expectations.
• Ensure our commitment to safe, high-quality code is maintained.
• Support the development of safe, secure and reliable products.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the UK and at our development sites in France and Italy.
