Software Architect

Salary: £90,000 - 120,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong background in software architecture, ideally within a SaaS, product or platform-led environment
• Experience with complex platforms or distributed systems
• Experience in SaaS, product or platform architecture
• Experience in API, integration and service design
• Experience in cloud-based architecture, ideally including Azure
• Understanding of security-by-design, resilience, scalability and operational quality
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to influence technical direction without direct line management
• Experience of platform consolidation would be particularly useful

Responsibilities:

• Provide architectural leadership across software platforms, services, integrations and cloud-based systems
• Define architectural principles, standards and target-state designs
• Support platform consolidation and reduce unnecessary duplication
• Review significant technical changes and guide solution design
• Help define clear service boundaries, ownership models and integration patterns
• Ensure security, resilience, observability and scalability are considered from the outset
• Identify architectural risks, technical debt and platform constraints
• Work closely with engineering and product leadership on major technical decisions
• Influence engineering teams through technical credibility, clarity and pragmatic decision-making

We are a software-led business with a broad technology landscape spanning multiple systems, services, integrations and data capabilities. We are looking for a Software Architect to help bring structure, coherence and long-term direction to our platform environment. This is a hybrid role based in Uxbridge, West London, with two days per week in the office, and the salary is up to £120,000 plus benefits. This is an individual contributor position focused on architecture, design review, technical direction and influencing engineering teams rather than hands-on development.
