Salary: £35,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Strong experience providing 2nd and 3rd line technical support in a managed service, consultancy or multi-site client environment.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
  • Proven knowledge of Entra ID / Azure Active Directory, including users, groups, access controls, MFA and conditional access.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, compliance, configuration and mobile device management.
  • Experience supporting Windows 11 and macOS environments, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripherals.
  • Understanding of networking and infrastructure fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, Active Directory and hybrid Microsoft environments.
  • Competence in AV and meeting room technologies, including Microsoft Teams Rooms and conferencing hardware.
  • Experience documenting technical fixes, root causes, knowledge base content and repeatable support processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
  • Experience with Yealink or comparable AV and meeting room equipment.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security, compliance policies, security baselines and data loss prevention.
  • Experience supporting vulnerability remediation, privileged access reviews, audit actions or security improvement plans.
  • Exposure to project-based work, such as migrations, cloud rollouts, AV upgrades, infrastructure improvements or security remediation activity.
  • ITIL awareness or certification.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as MD-102, MS-102, AZ-104 or comparable Microsoft 365, Azure or endpoint management qualifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support, security assurance and hands-on operational expertise across client IT environments.
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
  • Provide technical support for Microsoft 365 user, group and licence administration.
  • Support Entra ID / Azure Active Directory administration, including users, groups, role-based access control and hybrid identity where applicable.
  • Deploy, configure and maintain endpoints using Microsoft Intune, including device enrolment, compliance policies, configuration profiles and mobile device management.
  • Support Windows 11 and macOS environments, including hardware, software, mobile devices and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity and performance issues across agreed client environments.
  • Support DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, on-premise Active Directory and hybrid Microsoft environments where applicable.
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers to progress complex technical issues, service dependencies and agreed remediation activity.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex 2nd and 3rd line support tickets that cannot be resolved through standard 1st line support.
  • Investigate, diagnose and resolve recurring or complex technical issues across user, device, application and platform services.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support across client environments, including hands-on support for devices, peripherals, networking and specialist equipment where agreed.
  • Document fixes, root causes and repeatable resolution steps to support knowledge transfer and reduce repeat incidents.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, support process notes and operational runbooks.
  • Recommend service desk process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement of support processes.
  • Deliver clear, professional communication with internal teams, client stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
  • Support Microsoft Teams Rooms and agreed meeting room technologies.
  • Install, configure and maintain AV equipment, including displays, cameras, microphones, conferencing devices and comparable meeting room hardware.
  • Troubleshoot AV hardware and software issues quickly to minimise disruption.
  • Assist with the setup and operation of hybrid and remote meetings.
  • Provide scheduled live meeting or event support where agreed in advance, including support for external events where required.
  • Support agreed Yealink or comparable AV equipment where present in the client environment.
  • Review and support Microsoft 365 and Entra ID security configurations.
  • Support MFA, conditional access policies, role-based access controls and privileged access review activity.
  • Review Intune compliance policies, security baselines, endpoint configuration and device compliance.
  • Support patching, update review and vulnerability remediation activity across agreed endpoints and platforms.
  • Identify security risks, recommend remediation actions and support continuous improvement plans.
  • Maintain security-related documentation, remediation records and operational procedures.
  • Support audit actions, security recommendations and regular reporting on security progress to stakeholders.
  • Work in line with relevant IT policies, data protection requirements and industry best practice.
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point across client environments, supporting 2nd and 3rd line resolution activity.
  • Work with the Head of Delivery, service owners and client stakeholders to prioritise support, security and improvement activity.
  • Support planned changes, configuration improvements, infrastructure upgrades and agreed remediation work.
  • Recommend improvements to systems, processes, technologies and operational controls.
  • Share knowledge with internal teams and client contacts through documentation, handover notes and practical knowledge transfer.
  • Represent the organisation professionally during onsite visits, remote support sessions, supplier engagement and stakeholder updates.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Technician / Technical Consultant to support client IT environments with a focus on Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, endpoint management, infrastructure, networking, AV and meeting room technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern Microsoft technologies, contribute to cloud and AV transformation projects, and develop within a collaborative and supportive IT team.
