Senior Principal Software Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £60,000 - 63,000 per year
Requirements:- 15+ years in software engineering, with significant experience in aerospace or safety-critical systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Experience writing software for flight control electronics.
- Expertise in deterministic, fault-tolerant systems for flight control applications.
- Strong understanding of DO-178C certification and related standards.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with model-based development (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Preferred: familiarity with ARINC standards and MIL-STD protocols.
- Preferred: background in flight control actuation and fly-by-wire systems.
- Define software architecture and technical strategy for flight control and actuation systems.
- Develop real-time embedded software for actuation systems and flight control computers.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of software with our actuation products.
- Ensure adherence to aerospace standards such as DO-178C and ARP4754A throughout the development lifecycle.
- Guide and mentor engineers, promoting best practices in safety-critical software development.
- Drive rigorous verification and validation processes for mission-critical software.
