Senior Network Security Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• A good background in Network Security within a large-scale, complex organisation
• Experience setting up, maintaining, and upgrading firewalls
• In-depth experience with any of the following: Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto
• Experience within a large-scale, complex organisation; managed service, consultancy, or B2B experience is highly beneficial
• Recent experience dealing with major incidents involving networks and firewalls
• Some industry certifications may be required for top-end salaries, such as Fortinet NSE 4/5/6/7, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP
• Eligibility to get SC clearance

Responsibilities:

• Join our existing Network Security team alongside the SOC
• Work with vulnerabilities and remediation steps
• Set up, maintain, patch, and upgrade customer firewalls, including Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Check Point environments
• Work actively on client firewalls
• Complete firewall upgrades
• Run IPS and IDS
• Perform log reviews
• Carry out general BAU tasks, such as VPN creation
• Support a variety of clients by helping set up, maintain, monitor, and secure their networks
• Deal appropriately with major incidents
• Make sure appropriate steps are in place and followed for vulnerability remediation
• Perform safe upgrades and patches where required
• Provide accurate and informed security insights internally and to our customers
• Ensure incident response levels are appropriate
