Security Operations Lead

Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need skills and experience in understanding security operations at a technical level.
• We need awareness of key legislation and regulation impacting IT/OT general control requirements in an energy utility.
• We need experience working within a SOC.
• We require a record of academic achievement, including a recognised further education qualification such as a degree or diploma.

Responsibilities:

• We will support the Security Operations Manager in running BAU activities.
• We will implement and maintain 3rd line security incident and event management, escalation, and technical response processes.
• We will investigate suspected and actual incidents and events.
• We will act as a key escalation point for relevant teams and individuals.
• We will design, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures to protect information systems and networks.
• We will identify and feedback potential cyber improvements for OT systems and infrastructure.
• We will manage incident identification, assessment, quantification, reporting, communication, mitigation, and monitoring.
• We will ensure compliance with policy, process, and procedure, and improve processes to achieve operational objectives.
• We will revise and develop processes to strengthen the Security Operations Framework.
• We will review policies and highlight challenges in managing SLAs.
• We will manage, administer, and maintain security technology to achieve operational effectiveness.
• We will ensure orchestration and integration of security services and platforms to maximise usage and coverage.
• We will contribute to our cyber security functions purpose of delivering cyber resilient OT and IT to support a safe and reliable electricity supply to customers.

We are supporting a Security Operations Lead opportunity for an initial 12-month contract that is likely to extend further. The role is based in Glasgow on a hybrid basis, with three days in the office. We are driving an ambitious security transformation programme to reduce risk, achieve NIS compliance, and deliver a cyber resilient business. The role sits within an active global cyber security function and a security operations team that includes threat intelligence, identity and access management, response and recovery, and vulnerability management. The environment spans operational technology and information technology across a varied technology stack.
