Job Description

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Good SAP R3 and ABAP programming experience.
  • General knowledge of a wide range of IT technologies and activities, with specific knowledge of one or more technology fields.
  • Experience of using formal systems delivery methodologies.
  • Experience of delivering and supporting business-critical application packages within a large organisation.
  • Knowledge and operational experience in a manufacturing and/or defence industry would be beneficial.
  • Experience with CPS job scheduler (SAP Business Process Automation by Redwood) would be beneficial.
  • In-depth knowledge of required languages, applications, databases or technologies would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of IT and systems engineering disciplines, including requirements management, configuration management, change control, reliability analysis and quality management.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively with specialist team resources.
  • Logical, analytical, innovative, customer-focused, flexible, disciplined, organised and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Appreciation of the need for controlled processes and standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Support ERP ABAP development within our Digital Technology team.
  • Deliver and support application solutions for UK-based divisions.
  • Support and maintain the full application life cycle and day-to-day operation.
  • Service new business requirements, configuration changes and new stand-ups using industry best practice.
  • Understand new business requirements and support testing and integration across applications.
  • Analyse, enhance, develop, install, test and modify enterprise-wide and specialist business applications.
  • Work with functional and business teams to deliver business systems that meet requirements.
  • Work closely with staff and functional users to ensure changes are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
  • Support business users with bug fixes, requests for service and approved changes to current systems and new applications.
  • Help ensure ongoing availability of our system solutions and improve system productivity.
  • Provide system support within published service levels, including break-fix response and preventative maintenance.
  • Provide out-of-hours support where agreed, such as finance month-end support.
  • Ensure the integrity, availability and security of information and systems.
  • Carry out business analysis and requirements capture.
  • Perform systems analysis, programming and testing.
  • Carry out data analysis and design.
  • Support system implementation, including training, support and problem resolution.
  • Produce documentation for technologists and users.
  • Analyse, design, code, test, implement, document and support enhancements to our applications and interfaces.
  • Monitor helpdesk and change control systems for incoming work.
  • Update configuration and change management tools and ensure system maps reflect application portfolio changes.
  • Work with vendors to deliver requirements and resolve issues.
  • Make occasional visits to other sites and customer or partner organisations when required.
