Job Description

Salary: £35,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require 2+ years of professional software development experience.
  • We require more than 1 year of hands-on Flutter/Dart development experience.
  • We need strong knowledge of Flutter and Dart, including Riverpod state management.
  • We need experience with mobile UI/UX principles and platform-specific guidelines for iOS and Android.
  • We require experience integrating and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • We need strong working knowledge of Git and GitHub.
  • We require a solid understanding of mobile app testing, including unit and widget tests.
  • We need strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks.
  • We require excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • We need a good understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Preferred: experience publishing and maintaining apps on the Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store.
  • Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps such as Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or Codemagic.
  • Preferred: experience with Firebase or similar mobile backend services.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms.
  • Preferred: understanding of automated UI and integration testing such as Flutter integration tests or Appium.
  • We require a full clean driving licence and access to a car.
  • We require the right to work in the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
  • We collaborate with our Scrum development team to design, implement, and optimise solutions and improvements for our mobile applications.
  • We write clean, efficient, and maintainable Flutter/Dart code with minimal supervision.
  • We debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in existing mobile app code.
  • We write and maintain unit and widget tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • We participate in code reviews and contribute to mobile development best practices across the team.
  • We share knowledge on mobile app functionality and implementation to support colleagues in code review and QA.
  • We collaborate with IT and CX teams to improve support for our mobile apps and provide technical guidance.
  • We investigate and help resolve bugs raised by customers or colleagues, escalating where appropriate and keeping originators informed of progress.
  • We collaborate with team members to develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • We stay current with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in mobile development.
  • We remain flexible, work proactively as part of our Scrum team, and contribute to other activities when required.
  • We act in a courteous, professional, and ethical manner in all interactions.
  • We advise our line manager or management team on workload, technical challenges, and work progress.
  • We contribute positively to improvement initiatives and propose innovative solutions.
  • We comply with our values, service levels, policies, and legislative requirements.
