Linux System Admin - Onsite Manchester

Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• We would like proficiency in UNIX/Linux systems such as Red Hat, Debian, Solaris, or AIX.
• We would like shell scripting experience with Bash, KornShell, or similar.
• We would like experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.
• We would like knowledge of process and job control tools such as cron, at, and systemd timers.
• We would like networking fundamentals knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, and FTP.
• We would like filesystem management experience including LVM, ext4, XFS, and ZFS.
• We would like performance tuning and monitoring experience with tools such as top, vmstat, iostat, sar, and netstat.
• We would like exposure to automation software such as Ansible or Puppet.
• We would like scripting knowledge with Bash, Python, and/or Git.
• We would like experience with AWS.
• We would like knowledge of virtualization and containers such as KVM, VMware, Docker, and Podman.

Responsibilities:

• We will have you provide first and second level technical support for incidents and problems.
• We will have you monitor overall system performance and ensure smooth system functionality.
• We will have you create, maintain, and use documentation.
• We will have you help build compliance with processes and policies.
• We will have you implement standards, policies, and procedures for continual service improvement.
