Lead / Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 62,000 per year

Requirements:

• Demonstrable commercial experience as a senior or lead software engineer working on modern websites or digital platforms, with proven full-stack engineering skills including front-end technologies such as React or Next.js
• Additional experience with Python and Django for back-end development would be desirable
• Strong understanding of front-end web architecture, including React, headless CMS, and relevant CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to AI tools for engineering efficiency
• Experience with scalable, cloud-based secure web platforms, preferably integrating CRM, marketing analytics, or payment transactions
• Experience with line management of direct reports and performance appraisals would be beneficial
• Full, unrestricted rights to work in the UK

We are a not-for-profit organisation based a few miles south of Cambridge, working to help tackle human diseases and disorders. We are revolutionising our digital platform and building a dedicated small team to work alongside external partners. This is a 24-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension. We offer hybrid working with 2 days in the office, a competitive salary of up to £62,000 depending on experience, and a wide range of benefits including medical insurance, enhanced company pension contributions, and wellness and health plan options. We have a strong preference for candidates living close to the Cambridge area.
