Lead Application Developer

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require expert-level command of C#, SQL, and the .NET ecosystem.
• We expect you to have worked previously as a Senior or Lead Application Developer.
• We are looking for strong technical knowledge and analytical skills.
• We need demonstrable experience producing and consuming web services using Web API or other REST frameworks, including cross-platform integrations.
• Experience with Azure or other public cloud platforms is advantageous.
• Cruise or travel domain experience is desirable.
• You should have a good understanding of JIRA, Agile development, and other methodologies.
• You must have experience with CI/CD and modern DevOps pipelines.
• Cybersecurity knowledge, including OWASP Top 10, is expected.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills are required.
• You should be proactive, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and an advocate for team success.

Responsibilities:

• We lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance .NET solutions aligned to modern architecture principles.
• We provide strong technical guidance to the team and work alongside technical leadership, product owners, and project management to ensure delivery against agreed business requirements.
• We collaborate with colleagues across our Technology community to deliver technology programs, projects, and workstreams.
• We establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external teams.
• We ensure our applications are secure, resilient, testable, and fit for long-term evolution.
• We use Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and release management to drive automated, secure, and predictable software delivery across multiple environments.
• We mentor the team and promote strong engineering best practices.
• We support project planning and estimation, including delivery dates, while keeping key stakeholders updated on progress.
• We identify risks, assess impact, and liaise with business and technology teams to put robust controls in place.
• We assist the team in resolving operational issues that require high expertise.
• We lead and mentor a team of developers, sharing knowledge and cultivating best practices.
