IT Support Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £28,000 - 28,000 per year
Requirements:- We require a full, valid UK driving licence.
- We require experience in Windows desktop support within Intel/Windows environments.
- We require knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
- We require an understanding of networking concepts, including switches and routers.
- We require exposure to voice and data communications.
- We require experience using imaging tools such as Symantec Ghost.
- We require strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- We require experience supporting hardware, peripherals, and connectivity.
- We require the ability to work in a structured, process-driven technical environment.
- We require a professional, presentable, and customer-focused approach.
- We require confident communication skills with internal teams and external customers.
- We require the ability to remain calm and work under pressure in live incident scenarios.
- We require the ability to work independently and use initiative.
- We require flexibility to work out of hours and participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
- We require a proactive mindset and a strong work ethic.
- We provide technical support to customers during recovery rehearsals and live invocations.
- We troubleshoot and resolve desktop, hardware, connectivity, and infrastructure issues through to completion.
- We attend pre-test meetings and produce pre-test and post-test documentation.
- We support relocation and invocation activity at customer sites when required.
- We assist with the implementation of services for new customers, including IT and communications installations.
- We act as a failover support resource for other regional recovery centres.
- We ensure full functionality of site facilities, including UPS, generators, air conditioning, lighting, and connectivity.
- We provide out-of-hours and on-call support as part of a 24/7 rota.
- We maintain technical documentation, site guides, and user guides.
- We support health and safety, site security, and compliance requirements.
- We monitor and report potential security or fraudulent activity in line with company policies.

We are recruiting for an IT Support Engineer to join our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Centre in Farnborough, Hampshire. This is a full-time, permanent, hands-on role supporting business-critical IT systems during customer rehearsals and live recovery events. We offer exposure to infrastructure, networking, Windows environments, and customer-facing incident support, along with paid on-call rota participation and opportunities for technical development and progression. Our environment is fast-paced and operational, with no two days the same, and we are looking for someone who can help keep our recovery centre fully operational and ready to support customers when it matters most.
