Requirements:
  • We require SC and NPPV3 clearance.
  • We require experience as an Infrastructure Architect within complex enterprise environments.
  • We require experience working on large-scale business or organisational transformation programmes.
  • We require a strong understanding of cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • We require experience developing migration and transformation roadmaps.
  • We require experience with infrastructure consolidation and platform rationalisation.
  • We require a strong understanding of resiliency, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity principles.
  • We require the ability to evaluate technical solutions against business requirements and strategic objectives.
  • We require the role to be PAYE through an umbrella company.
Responsibilities:
  • We will develop and maintain the infrastructure architecture strategy supporting the target operating model.
  • We will define the future-state infrastructure landscape across cloud, hosting, networking, end-user computing, identity, storage, and platform services.
  • We will ensure infrastructure architecture aligns with enterprise architecture principles, business objectives, and transformation outcomes.
  • We will work with programme teams to support the integration of multiple organisations into the target environment.
  • We will assess current-state infrastructure environments and identify opportunities for consolidation and optimisation.
  • We will produce high-level and detailed infrastructure designs.
  • We will define infrastructure standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
  • We will review and assure solution designs, suppliers, and technical partners.
  • We will ensure architecture designs meet security, availability, performance, resilience, and operational requirements.
  • We will ensure business continuity and operational stability throughout transformation delivery.
  • We will define architectural requirements for hosting, connectivity, and workplace technology.
  • We will ensure technical designs support service integration and operational readiness requirements.
  • We will define cloud adoption strategies and migration approaches where appropriate.
  • We will identify opportunities to modernise legacy infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
  • We will promote infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native design principles.
  • We will ensure architectural compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • We will collaborate with cyber teams to embed secure-by-design principles.
  • We will support risk assessments and architectural reviews.
  • We will ensure infrastructure solutions meet resilience, disaster recovery, backup, and continuity requirements.
  • We will work with business stakeholders, technical teams, suppliers, and service providers.
  • We will translate complex technical concepts into understandable business language.
  • We will facilitate workshops and design sessions with architecture and delivery teams.
  • We will support decision-making through clear architectural recommendations and assessments.
  • We will collaborate with infrastructure suppliers, cloud providers, and technology partners.
  • We will ensure third-party solutions align with strategic architecture principles.
  • We will support technical governance across multi-vendor delivery environments.
  • We will manage architecture dependencies relating to supplier-delivered services.

We are supporting a major organisational transformation programme that is bringing multiple organisations, business units, and end-user communities together into a unified target operating model. This is a remote role with very rare travel to London and Manchester. The contract runs until 30/06/2027, with a rate of £500 to £580. We are looking for an Infrastructure Architect to help define, design, and assure the future-state infrastructure architecture for consolidated services, platforms, and ways of working, ensuring the environment is scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned to the programmes strategic vision.
