Head of IT

Salary: £45,800 - 51,600 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing an IT service and leading a technical team
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and Intune
• Strong understanding of networking, firewalls and infrastructure
• Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid environments
• Strong understanding of virtualisation
• Strong understanding of PowerShell and automation
• Strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery and business continuity
• Ability to manage projects, budgets and competing priorities
• Comfortable working in a hands-on leadership role
• Able to provide a good service to staff and students

Responsibilities:

• Lead a busy technical support function across multiple sites
• Manage the Tech Support team of 5
• Oversee networks and infrastructure
• Lead IT projects
• Manage suppliers
• Ensure systems are secure, reliable and fit for purpose
• Take responsibility for IT strategy, budgets, disaster recovery, data security and service performance
• Work closely with senior leaders to plan future improvements

We are a specialist recruitment company focused on non-teaching support in the education sector. We are working exclusively with a further education client in Greater London to recruit an experienced Head of IT for a hands-on leadership role. The salary is £45,800 to £51,600, with 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and a 20% pension. We also offer hybrid working with 1-2 days working from home each week, based on business needs. Sponsorship is not available.
