Data Engineering Technical Lead

Salary: £120,000 - 160,000 per year

Requirements:

• We have experience in data analytics, programming, database administration, or data management.
• We hold an undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A graduate degree is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• We write ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, design database systems, and develop tools for real-time and offline analytic processing.
• We troubleshoot software and processes for data consistency and integrity.
• We integrate complex, large-scale data from a variety of sources to help business partners generate insight and make decisions.
• We translate business specifications into design specifications and code.
• We write complex programs, ad hoc queries, and reports.
• We ensure our code is well structured, well documented, and easy to maintain and reuse.
• We partner with internal clients to understand business functions and informational needs.
• We work closely with technical and data analytics experts across the business to implement data solutions.
• We lead all phases of solution development.
• We explain technical considerations in meetings with internal clients and less experienced team members.
• We assess data quality and test code thoroughly for accuracy and intended purpose.
• We provide data analysis guidance and serve as technical consultants for clients.
• We educate and develop junior data engineers while applying quality control to their work.
• We develop data engineering standards and contribute expertise to other data expert teams across Vanguard.
• We test and implement new software releases through regression testing.
• We identify issues and work with vendors to resolve them and move software into production.
• We participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
