Automation & Platform Engineer

Requirements:

• Strong experience administering enterprise applications on both Windows and Linux
• Experience delivering application and platform upgrades in production environments
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar tools
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
• Experience with application servers, middleware and databases
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities
• Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements
• Administer applications deployed across Windows and Linux environments
• Troubleshoot application, middleware and infrastructure issues
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks
• Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools
• Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines
• Promote IAC along with DevOps best practices

We are seeking an SC Cleared Automation / Platform Engineer for an Inside IR35, 6-month hybrid contract. In this role, we focus on upgrading enterprise applications across our estate and supporting the design of future upgrades aligned to our growth strategy. You will join a team dedicated to streamlining and standardising application and infrastructure upgrades, with a strong emphasis on automation and modern platform practices.
