Engineering Lead, Account Details Experience

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience leading teams and expanding products through ongoing growth
• Strong product mindset and passion for user experience, with the ability to prioritise customer needs and make data-driven decisions
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Ability to coordinate work across multiple teams and collaborate across an organisation
• Ability to break complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver customer value
• Experience developing web applications and distributed systems in a production environment
• Familiarity with common design and architectural patterns, and a focus on clean, performant, well-tested code
• Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and improvement
• Experience following and advocating for coding best practices, continuous delivery, and code reviews
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation, and schema design is a plus
• Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, and experience with a messaging system such as Kafka, is a plus
• Willingness to participate in the critical-services on-call rotation, normally every 6–10 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of backend and web engineers
• Work closely with Product to shape what we build next
• Help evolve the Wise platform that powers receiving money for millions of customers worldwide
• Build the receive-to-alias experience and platform
• Develop the roadmap for the next two quarters with the Product Manager
• Coordinate delivery across teams and help engineers build and prioritise the right solutions
• Participate in the on-call rotation for critical services and help improve it
