Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• 5 years experience of working within a cyber security engineering / specialist capacity.
• Knowledge of best practices in modern security architectures and incident responses.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft security environments, including Defender and Sentinel.
• Excellent problem-solving ability, including leading multi-disciplinary teams to identify, research and coordinate resource to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Hold at least one security-related certification such as CISSP, CEH, or CCNA Security.

Responsibilities:

• Own and continually develop cybersecurity controls and security architecture.
• Identify vulnerabilities in hardware and software to be remediated by Engineering and Operations teams.
• Understand current and emerging security threats.
• Assist and lead incident response investigations and mitigation.
• Participate in and lead varied IT infrastructure lifecycle and security projects where relevant.
• Create high-level designs, support solution costing, and review project proposals.
• Ensure proposed infrastructure architecture and design align with our policies.
• Evaluate project success after delivery, identifying best practices and lessons learned.
• Provide major problem and incident support where Operations teams need steering from a subject matter expert.
• Liaise with third-party suppliers on system issues.
• Ensure all members of 3rd level teams have relevant skills sharing, procedures, and documentation.

We are recruiting for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer / Specialist. The role reports into our Infrastructure Engineering Manager and focuses on cybersecurity controls, security architecture, project delivery, and 3rd line support. Our working policy requires 4 days per week in the office during probation and 3 days thereafter.
