DevOps Senior Consultant

Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require weekly on-site work and regular travel to client locations across the UK.
• You must hold active Security Check (SC) clearance or be eligible and willing to undergo the clearance process.
• For SC clearance, applicants typically must have UK citizenship and have lived continuously in the UK for at least the past five years, with no single absence exceeding 28 consecutive days.
• We are looking for demonstrable experience in DevOps practices.
• In interview, we would like to see experience in designing, building, and testing software release processes that cover the entire SDLC.
• In interview, we would like to see experience in creating, modifying, and maintaining complex CI/CD pipelines.
• In interview, we would like to see experience in creating dashboards and visualisations for application performance that proactively identify and address potential problems.
• In interview, we would like to see experience using automated testing to detect security issues and vulnerabilities in application and/or infrastructure code before production.
• We need strong experience operating and maintaining services in one of the major public cloud providers: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• We want recent government or public sector experience.
• We want experience delivering complex digital services aligned to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
• Desirable experience includes problem identification using RCA or 5-Whys methods.
• Desirable experience includes a strong understanding of cloud networking and security concepts.
• Desirable experience includes understanding containerisation and orchestrating groups of containers in production environments.
• Desirable experience includes writing clean, organised, structured, and version-controlled code.
• Desirable experience includes knowledge of at least one scripting language for more complex automation tasks.
• Desirable experience includes a preference for using CLI tools over web portals.
• Desirable experience includes understanding SRE ways of working.
• Desirable experience includes auditing services for FinOps and SecOps compliance issues.
