Engineering Lead

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience leading teams and expanding products through ongoing growth
• Strong product mindset and passion for user experience, with a focus on customer needs and data-driven decisions
• Great communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Ability to lead and inspire engineers to build the right things in the right way
• Ability to deliver work across multiple teams and coordinate efforts across the organisation
• Ability to break down complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver customer value
• Experience developing web applications and distributed systems in a production environment
• Experience with common design and architectural patterns, clean code, performance, and strong testing practices
• Curiosity and drive for continuous learning and improvement
• Experience following and advocating best coding practices, continuous delivery, and code reviews
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation, and schema design is a plus
• Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot and experience with a messaging system such as Kafka is a plus
• Ability to participate in the on-call rotation for critical services, normally every 6-10 weeks

• Help evolve a critical platform that powers receiving money for millions of customers around the world
• Build out the receive-to-alias experience and platform
• Build the roadmap for the next two quarters together with Product Management
• Join the 24/7 on-call rotation for critical services
• Help the team improve on-call processes and service reliability
