Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in some of the following areas: Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience in some of the following areas: Windows Server administration.
• Experience in some of the following areas: Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Experience in some of the following areas: Virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experience in some of the following areas: Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and firewalls.
• Experience in some of the following areas: Endpoint management tools such as Intune.
• Experience in some of the following areas: Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Experience in some of the following areas: Cyber security best practices and infrastructure security.
• PowerShell scripting would be advantageous.
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or equivalent would be beneficial.
• Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) or equivalent would be beneficial.
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+ would be beneficial.
• ITIL Foundation certification would be beneficial.
• Relevant degree, apprenticeship or professional IT qualification would be beneficial.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and customer-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• A willingness to learn and develop within a cloud-first environment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, support and continually improve cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, availability and security across the IT estate.
• Support Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services.
• Assist with infrastructure projects, upgrades and cloud migrations.
• Manage and support servers, networks, storage and virtual environments.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and problems.
• Implement security best practices and support vulnerability management activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures and system records.
• Work with third-party suppliers and technology partners to deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute to business continuity, backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.

We are recruiting a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer for our client in Birmingham, offering hybrid working and a salary of up to £46,000 on a full-time permanent contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting, maintaining and enhancing IT infrastructure, cloud platforms and the end-user environment.
