Java Web Developer

Salary: £13,000 - 53,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with legacy Java applications
• Java 1.4 to Java 8 experience
• Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle WebLogic, and Apache Tomcat
• Knowledge of Struts, Spring, JSP, Servlets, and Velocity
• Experience with iBatis, JDBC, and Oracle Database integration
• Experience with EAR, WAR, and JAR deployments
• Experience with legacy application development and support
• Experience with legacy application modernisation
• Experience with vulnerability remediation and security fixes
• Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise applications

Responsibilities:

• Support and enhance legacy Java applications across Java 1.4 through Java 8
• Work with enterprise Java application servers including IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle WebLogic, and Apache Tomcat
• Use legacy web application frameworks and technologies including Struts 1.x, Spring 1.x/2.x, JSP, JSTL, Servlets, and Velocity
• Integrate applications with iBatis, JDBC, and Oracle Database
• Work with EAR, WAR, and JAR deployments and complex dependency chains
• Analyse, debug, and remediate issues in large, long-lived codebases with technical debt and obsolete third-party libraries
• Support technical upgrades, vulnerability remediation, framework upgrades, and application migrations
