Software Engineer

Salary: £33,000 - 73,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for engineers with 3+ years of commercial Software Engineering experience.
• We want strong engineering fundamentals and overall problem-solving ability.
• We are looking for engineers who are comfortable being technology agnostic.
• We ideally want experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, C# / .NET, Rust, Go, TypeScript / JavaScript, React, or another modern software engineering stack.
• We are particularly interested in engineers with consultancy, professional services, or other client-facing technical experience.
• We want people who are technically strong, comfortable communicating directly with stakeholders, and interested in working across different technologies and business problems.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of software delivery from understanding the initial problem through to designing, building, testing, and delivering the solution.
• Design and build production software and applications.
• Work across backend services, APIs, and application architecture.
• Engage directly with users to understand business and technical requirements.
• Translate complex problems into pragmatic technical solutions.
• Work alongside client engineering teams to deliver projects collaboratively.
• Take ownership throughout the development lifecycle.
• Challenge existing systems and identify better ways of solving problems.
• Work across different languages, frameworks, and technology stacks.
• Build an understanding of the clients business and domain, rather than focusing solely on the underlying technology.
• Understand why we are building something, communicate directly with the people using it, and take responsibility for delivering the right solution.

We are a rapidly growing technology consulting business in Newcastle upon Tyne, and we are hiring several Software Engineers due to significant client and project demand. This is a broad, client-facing engineering role for someone who wants to work across complex technology programmes for large organisations rather than staying within one product team and one technology stack.
