IT Operations Engineer - Stoke-on-Trent
Job Description
Salary: £39,000 - 45,000 per year
Requirements:- 3rd line IT infrastructure support experience
- Experience in business-as-usual routine IT operations and maintenance
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Office 365
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange email server management
- Knowledge of data centre operations and management
- Advanced support knowledge of Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019
- Understanding and management of virtual environments such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Familiarity with storage solutions and technologies such as SAN, Nimble, or NetApp
- Experience with data backup and recovery solutions
- Knowledge of applying updates and patches to systems
- Proficiency in managing Active Directory user accounts, permissions, and network resources
- Resolve escalated issues and tickets passed from first and second line support teams
- Support several thousand users with 3rd line BAU support
- Use technical specialism to resolve issues based on severity and priority
- Support the design, specification, installation, and configuration of new server, storage, network security, and Cloud technologies
- Maintain the security, optimisation, availability, storage, backup, retrieval, and safe keeping of electronic data in line with the IT security policy
- Support infrastructure upgrade projects
- Receive training in new technologies where required
- Research new and upcoming technologies to assess their impact or potential enhancement to planned or existing IT services
