Requirements:

• Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and coding agents to improve software delivery, testing, and documentation.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and the ability to validate, govern, and improve AI-generated engineering artefacts.
• Experience designing complex software systems, distributed systems, data platforms, and cloud-native services.
• Architecture and design leadership experience, including setting technical direction, resolving complex design trade-offs, and guiding software engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, operating systems, networking, APIs, integration patterns, and performance trade-offs.
• Experience with AWS cloud computing platforms, including architecture patterns, security, observability, and deployment.
• Strong background in software architecture, systems engineering, distributed systems, or complex cloud-native platform delivery.
• Programming experience in Go, Rust, C/C++, Java, or Python.
• Desirable: AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.
• Desirable: experience in Telecoms, AIOps, Network Ops, RAN/Core Analytics, Data Engineering, anomaly detection, RCA, lakehouse, or agent orchestration patterns.

Responsibilities:

• Design AI-enabled, complex cloud-native and data-intensive systems that support Network Operations across RAN, data, and automation domains.
• Own the system engineering discipline, translating business problems into robust technical designs and ensuring AI-assisted delivery remains governed, secure, and outcome-focused.
• Own complex technical designs from early problem framing through to release and operational support.
• Take a hands-on role and be responsible for technical outcomes from concept to production.
• Work with a global IT consultancy supporting our clients transition toward delivery models utilising AI agents to streamline systems software and operations.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools and coding agents to improve delivery, testing, and documentation.

More:

We are offering a 6-month rolling contract for an AI Native Systems Engineer based in London on a hybrid working model, with 2-3 days per week remote and 2-3 days per week in our London office. The role is outside IR35 and pays up to £500/day. We are looking for someone who can start ASAP, ideally in September 2026, to work with a global IT consultancy supporting our clients transition toward AI-enabled delivery models.
