Senior Technical Project Manager
Job Description
Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year
Requirements:- Extensive experience in software development project management.
- Supply chain and logistics experience, ideally within a retail environment.
- Understanding of ecommerce experience is desirable.
- Ability to read log files, draw conclusions, and direct further technical investigation.
- Experience working with cloud technology for back end and React/Node for front end.
- Understanding of cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
- Basic understanding of Terraform to engage with technical teams.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and legacy AWS applications.
- Experience defining, managing, and delivering to customer expectations within strict deadlines.
- Full knowledge of the project lifecycle and experience with Agile, Incremental, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Comfort working in complex technical environments and legacy systems integration.
- Experience with code management tools such as git, Bitbucket, and SVN.
- Understanding of GitHub or other release pipeline tools.
- Experience managing third parties.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Relevant project management qualifications.
- Developer background or programming qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Minimum BA/BS degree in information management, marketing, communications, business, or a closely related area is an advantage.
- Manage technical teams and releases across complex client environments.
- Build strong relationships with the team and communicate at a technical level with developers and senior technical team members.
- Follow development standards, branching strategies, and coding review best practices.
- Produce release and technical reporting for project and account technical deliverables, architecture, and the release pipeline.
- Manage project plans and detailed reporting to ensure efficient project tracking.
- Maintain and escalate RAID logs for the project.
- Identify technical risks and issues and provide mitigation options.
- Communicate knowledgeably with internal and external stakeholders, including chairing technical meetings as required.
- Coordinate internal technical specialists.
- Lead and inspire the team to achieve individual and team objectives.
- Ensure technical teams deliver successfully and suggest process improvements where required.
- Define, plan, organise, and manage the build of new infrastructure environments.
- Coordinate high-quality technical solutions on time through effective time management.
- Help implement and benchmark the introduction of AI into the SDLC.
- Run complex projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
- Oversee releases across pre-production and production environments, understanding dependencies between client systems.
- Implement technical governance according to client needs.
- Build customer confidence by understanding needs and delivering first-class solutions.
- Set and manage client expectations, address issues respectfully and promptly, and maintain a positive image and high-quality service.
