Senior Database Engineer

Salary: £29,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of client migrations from different providers and client set-up processes.
• Experience of making effective decisions through the analysis of technical information and executing them.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in database development, management, and coding.
• Expert understanding of SQL and relational database design.
• Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, TSQL, Python, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Experience with .NET and/or Python is helpful.
• Must be prepared to travel for meetings and training as required.
• The post requires a DBS check.

Responsibilities:

• Develop the overall design and strategy of large-scale core client and data migrations, solutions, and delivery.
• Set the strategy for individual client migrations of external pension funds into WYPF from a technology perspective, including target platform and migration approach.
• Develop our own code and applications to keep WYPF industry leading in feature-rich code and services and provide our USPs in the marketplace, including our payroll and HMRC systems.
• Design, build, and maintain robust databases and systems, ensuring data integrity, security, scalability, and performance.
• Bring on new client data and set up payroll to ensure pensioners continue enjoying their benefits.
• Work with external and internal development teams supporting multiple clients.
