Embedded Firmware Engineer

Requirements:- Approximately five years of professional embedded software engineering experience using C/C++
- Hands-on experience with STM32 microcontrollers and embedded debugging
- Proven experience delivering low-power firmware for battery-operated devices
- Experience integrating GNSS modules and working with LoRa or LoRaWAN communications
- Deep understanding of I2C, SPI, ADC, DAC, PWM, and external EEPROM
- Professional experience with an RTOS, preferably FreeRTOS
- Proficiency with VS Code and/or STM32CubeIDE
- Ability to work independently and deliver production-ready, maintainable firmware
- Familiarity with u-blox M10 or newer GNSS architectures
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and J-Link or ST-Link
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Ability to read hardware schematics and PCB layouts
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or comparable tools
- Design, develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware for low-power STM32-based IoT devices
- Integrate GNSS, LoRa or LoRaWAN, and hardware peripherals
- Develop within an RTOS environment
- Deliver reliable, maintainable, production-ready code
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary product and platform teams across the UK, Israel, and California, USA

We are building our Technology Solutions division around a Product Operating Model that gives product teams full ownership and accountability for delivering customer and business value. Our cross-functional product and platform teams bring together Product Managers, Technology Leads, Product Designers, Delivery Leads, engineers, and developers, with shared leadership between the Product Manager and Technology Lead. We are developing the future generations of Vence Collar, a product with advanced system architecture and connectivity, where you can see the success of your work in customers hands through short delivery cycles and quick feedback. This is a full-time temporary contract for 2 years with hybrid working (2 days onsite and 3 days from home), an hourly rate of £31.54 - £23.64 depending on experience, and 25 days holiday.
